I experienced a religious narc doing this to myself… My former narc-elder had setup file folders on his computer and kept information on all those in his local fellowship so that he could use this against them in frame-ups, smear campaigns, and other manipulative actions should he detect them catching on to his abuses. It was almost scientific to watch his actions as he proceeded from the devaluation stage to the discard stage. He invented a perverted method of declaring someone ‘factious’ and thereby anathema (cursed) so no one else in the fellowship dare listen to ‘the other side’ of the story- actually he would forbid anyone to talk to those who left or who were ‘factioned out.’ A pretty clever way of controlling the truth about a matter and keeping his victims under his control- this violated every Biblical principle declared especially the two-witness law; yet, my ex narc-elder would twist scripture to justify it… Anyway, you will see more in the book I am writing about my experiences with a ‘spiritual con-man’ in the near future.
